Manning Valley Neighbourhood Services Inc. (MVNS) auspices the Wingham Akoostik Festival through providing administration support and insurance. The festival was first held in 2007 and was a great success and is now an annual event in October.

The Winham Akoostik Festival is an event that promotes regional acts and encourages original music and acts as a launcing arena for new and upcoming artists. The festival also features well known artists to attract more visitors and guarantee an inspiring event for the audience and fellow performers. The aim is to showcase local artists, both solo artists and bands, with the skill to play their sets acoustically.

The Festival is not purely focused on the stage acts though, it also features and promotes local talent and products in the stall holders nominated to be part of the festival. Local fresh food and coffee stalls, local produce and artistic pieces, and promotional items such as T-shirts and CDs build on the festival spirit and create interest and enthusiasm for the event.

The festival also has a huge array of market stalls, food, street theatre, and activities for the kids.The festival is a not for profit event with funds raised being put back into the community. It is an alcohol free all ages gig.
