Mental Health Court Support and Referral Project

Mental Health Court Support and Referral (this project has finished, however, don't hesitate to contact us if you would like any referrals to mental health or legal support services)

"People with a lived experience of mental illness are over represented at every stage of the criminal justice system. The language, surroundings and formalities may be unfamiliar and confronting."
NSW Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research.

The Mental Health Court Support and Referral (MHCSR) Project provides information, referral and court support for people with a lived experience of mental health issues.

We do this by:

1. Providing trained volunteers to assist people at Taree Local Court on Tuesdays, Tenancy Tribunal on Wednesday and/or

2. Providing links to legal and community services (and vice versa),

Better understanding of court processes, volunteer support at court and appropriate referrals to community services will ensure better outcomes for all.

Do you or someone you know need help at court?

Ask your community worker to refer you or phone Anne the Coordinator on 0427 507 679.
