Water Safety Program for Migrants on the Mid North Coast

We have two programs – one for adults and one for children.

Program for Adults

The water safety program aims to give you information and teach you skills to stay safe in pools, rivers and at the beach.  The program will teach practical water safety, basic swimming and water survival skills for in the pool and the ocean. We hope you will share what you learn with your families and enjoy water activities safely and with confidence. The program is FREE. 

This program is for:

  • Adults who were born overseas
  • Can not swim or can not swim very well
  • Live in the Port Macquarie, Taree or Forster areas

What does the program involve?

  • 7 survival swimming lessons in a pool
  • 3 ocean awareness lessons at the beach
  • A family fun day at the end
  • There will be women’s only and men’s only lessons available.

How much is the program?

  • The program is FREE however you are responsible for getting yourself to the venue.

If I want to be involved what do I need to do?

  • Fill in a form to let us know you would like to be involved as soon as you can as places are limited.

When will the swimming program be held?

  • It will take awhile to organise the lessons to match when everyone is available for lessons.We expect we will run the program early in 2018 but we need to organise the program this year. So it is essential to put your name down this year.
  • If there is enough interest to run some intensive lessons or have lessons over the summer holidays we may run the program early.

Program for Children
